Dream Theater: There are no New Albums until 2019 – Reporting from Blabbermouth, John Petrucci announced that Dream Theater will not release a new album until 2009. This veteran guitarist will be replaced by the G3 series with Joe Satriani in North America and Europe for the whole of 2018. As a result, Dream Theater will not release new material in the time of delivery.

“Believe it or not, I will approve these two G3 tours until the spring of next year, so we will not work on new material until next year and will only release a new album roughly to buy afterwards.”

“Our album already knows the direction of the material. We are very happy to work on it but not in the near future, “said Petrucci.

After completing the world series for the 25th anniversary of Photos & Words, Petrucci agreed that the latest Dream Theater album material might approve the sound of that era.

“I think the material we play now is connected to our music and mindset in the early 90s and everything related to that period, the tour connected us to the Dream Theater music style of that period,” Petrucci explained.

“We are ready to return to the recording studio. Our discussion process to work on this material is very interesting, “he concluded.

Meanwhile James LaBrie (vocal) told Rockbook last May at Dream Theater that he was waiting at the start of new material “pretty cool”.

“We are only now planting the seeds. We just worked on a few things, but so far the material sounds cool. The serious process will only be done after we finish the tour. We will return to the studio every day to write new songs. At the moment, we have quite a lot of savings ideas, “LaBrie said.

History of Metallica Band Standing

Metallica , that’s how the world calls it, the band that entered the Underground scene in the early 1980s, Metallica was a mainstream band. At that time, with a huge album sales reaching 57 million copies in America and reaching 35 million copies outside of America was a real achievement. terrible and extraordinary.

Metallica was first established in Los Angeles – United States under the name The Young of Metal Attack. A few months later the group changed its name to Metallica which is said to be a combination of the words Metal and Vodca. The name Metallica itself is actually the name proposed for a music magazine that was stolen by Lars Ulrich before the magazine got the name.

The band’s early history began in California in 1981, by drummer Lars Ulrich and guitarist / vocalist James Hetfield. bassist Ron McGovny later joined and was followed by Dave Mustaine. McGovney left the band after a conflict with Mustaine and his position was replaced by Cliff Burton. Mustaine’s aggressive nature and frequent drug and alcohol problems resulted in him being fired by Ulrich and Hetfield. His position was filled by Kirk Hammet (ex Exodus guitarist), a student of Joe Satriani. After leaving the band, Mustaine then formed Megadeth.

The band got its name when Ulrich was invited by the San Francisco Metal promoter, named Ron Quintana, to help choose a name from his list to become the name of his new magazine. On the list there is the name Metallica. Ulrich suggested Metal Mania to offer Quintana and choose Metallica for the band he had just formed. Together with Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax, Metallica was one of four thrash metal figures in the 1980s. These four bands became metal giants of their time with their respective skills and characteristics.

The first album “Kill ‘Em All” was released in 1983 with the company Megaforce. This first album became an example of Metallica’s basic sound for the 1980s with typical vocals and heavy rhythms from Hetfield. On this debut album, James Hetfield’s vocals are still loud, their screams are still shrill and not heavy, so the metal feels more “Trash”. For listeners “beginners” in the world of Metal maybe the songs on this album can not be enjoyed, although the melody, especially in the song Motorbreath, Jump in the fire and Seek and Destroy very good for “head banger”. Overall, the songs on the album “Kill ‘Em All” rhythmic with the guitar playing Kirk and Lars thud drum that is very prominent.

1984 Metallica releases its second album titled “Ride the Lightning”. What’s interesting on this album …. there is one instrumental song called “The Call of Ktulu” and the song “slow” which is titled “Fade To Black” whose rhythm feels different from other Metallica songs. But overall the songs on the second album still feature fast guitar playing and powerful drum beatings accompanied by the loud screams of the vocalist.

The third album with the title “Muster of Puppets” was released in 1985 after previously signing with Elektra Records. The songs on this album although the rhythm is more thrilling than the two previous albums but it is very “good” to be listened to and the music can be used for “head banger”. The guitar playing of Kirk Hammett was very powerful on this album, his screams from James Hetfield were also heavier and the Lars Ulrich drum beat was faster and stomping but the bass burrow of Cliff Burton was not so visible because it was covered with the awesomeness of Kirk’s guitar playing.

Metallica raised the flag at half-mast when touring in Europe in 1986, when Metallica mourned because bassist Cliff Burton died in Sweden in a bus accident, after Cliff’s position Bassist was replaced by Jason Newstead. Entering 1988 they made “… And Justice for All” with music that was more complex than the previous album. … And Justice for all was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Hard Rock / Metal Performance Vocal or Instrument category, but the Grammy award was won and fell into the hands of Jethro Tull. The following year Metallica won the Grammy Award. As a result of the award, Video “One” is played continuously by MTV.

The album titled “Metallica” which is often called The Black Album was released in 1991 by targeting a much wider audience. Album reached no. 1 on the Billboard and platinum certified in a few weeks. This album became Metallica’s most popular album and her hit “Enter Sandman” became Metallica’s most widely known song. And it even became a compulsory song for heavy fans of Metallica.

Then in “Load” (1996) and “ReLoad” (1997), fast metal tempos are replaced with bluesy guitar tones, slide guitar and steel guitar playing, hurdy-gurdy and violin. Some fans insinuated them as Poptalica, Alternica and even Lica. For the next album, they covered songs from a number of artists that influenced them, ranging from The Misfits, Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath to Nick Cave and Bob Seger. In 1999, Metallica was inducted into the San Francisco Walk of Fame and the following month, they recorded two shows with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra and released it with the title S&M.

Jason Newsted left Metallica in 2001. Interviews revealed his resignation due to his desire to make a CD and tour with his personal band, Echobrain, but that desire was always blocked by Hetfield. After Newsted left, his position was replaced by Robert Trujillo, ex-bassist Suicidal Tendencies who also played with the band Ozzy Osbourne, Infectious Grooves and Black Label Society. While Newsted later joined the legendary Canadian thrash metal band, Voivod, and interestingly replaced Trujillo in Ozzfest 2003.

Metallica created a controversy by demanding Napster whose 300,000 members trade the entire Metallica song catalog on the site. They also demanded that several universities allow Napster to be operated on campus. This prosecution resulted in the mockery of a number of sites that said the band who started their careers from the underground scene who often traded footage of live bootlegs had become the eyes of money. Metallica replied that what they were concerned about was the illegal trading of their studio material, not live bootleg.

After releasing the album “Reload”, Metallica did not release the album for a long time due to too many problems surrounding its personnel. From the release of bassist Jason Newsted until the entry of vocalist James Hetfield to rehabilitation of drug dependence and legal problems with Napster, Metallica released their next album in 2003.

Their eighth album, “St. Anger” (2003), climbed to position no. 1 on the chart. The album was made rough and not polished to respond to parties who claim Metallica had lost their sound violence. However, the rough sound without many guitar solos was criticized by fans who did not like it. Used CD stores are flooded with CDs that are sold by disappointed fans. Although criticized, St. Anger won the 2004 Grammy.

In 2006, Metallica ended a 15-year collaboration with producer Bob Rock and formed a new partnership with legendary producer Rick Rubin, who used to handle Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer, Audioslave, Slipknot, System of a Down, Johnny Cash, LL Cool J, Jay-Z and Slayer. Although the band is rumored to be disbanded, their existence is still present and felt in the world of metal music blanktika. “I salute the Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, and Aerosmith who are still active today. But the problem is that The Rolling Stones’ music is not as heavy as Metallica’s music ,” said Lars. “Metallica has the potential to remain active for quite a long time. “I don’t know anymore, my hands, feet and back have started to complain,” he continued.
